2026-2027 Field Appraisal Work

The Upshur County Appraisal District will begin field appraisal work in September, with inspections expected to be completed by December 31, 2026, in designated areas of the county for the 2027 tax year.

The District’s reappraisal plan requires an on-site property inspection at least once every three years. These inspections are completed in sections throughout the county.

For the 2027 tax year, properties located within the Upshur County portions of the following school districts will be inspected:

  • Harmony ISD
  • New Diana ISD
  • Ore City ISD
  • The portion of Pittsburg ISD adjoining Ore City ISD

In addition, all real industrial, commercial, and business personal property accounts will be inspected countywide.

On-site inspections will include reviewing and updating property information, as well as taking updated property photographs.

Once the designated reappraisal zones have been completed, field staff will begin inspections related to new construction, permits, and requested rechecks. These inspections will begin no later than early January 2027 and are expected to be completed by early March.

Please feel free to contact the Upshur County Appraisal District office if you have any questions regarding the appraisal process or upcoming field inspections.

For your convenience, we have now installed an “After Hours Drop Box” located at the front entrance.
